Jaipur School of Hindi and Yoga was founded with the following aims:
To provide our students with high-quality Hindi Language Instruction and the opportunity to learn about the social, cultural and political aspects of local culture
To offer Hindi language instruction to families with children (one part of the family can study in the morning and the other in the afternoon). The host family can take care of small children
To develop nature conservancy and environmental education projects around Jaipur
To introduce students to volunteers and organizations working with homeless children, women's shelters, orphanages, conservation, and sustainable agriculture groups
Every afternoon we have activities that offer you the opportunity to travel and learn about the area while practicing your Hindi. We have conferences and guest speakers presenting on subjects varying from Indian history, culture, politics, women's issues, and indigenous groups. We also host weekly traditional art courses and travel to nearby indigenous villages, markets, NGOs and cooperatives. Every Friday night, we have a traditional dinner and folk dancing with our students, teachers and staff. The weekends will give you a chance to explore Rajasthan beyond the structure of the program.
Jaipur school of Hindi and Yoga works with the Department of Protected Areas, the Department of Environmental Studies and other conservation groups in reforestation projects. Student tuition goes directly to support these efforts. Students are more than welcome to volunteer in a variety of our projects.
Home-stays at the Jaipur School of Hindi and Yoga are an integral part of our full immersion program. The home-stays are an excellent way to practice your Hindi and experience life in Jaipur first-hand. All of our home-stay families provide you with a private room, three daily meals, and hot water. According to the local tradition of hospitality, as a guest and a friend, you will quickly become a member of the family. The families can accommodate for vegetarian or other special diets. If, for any reason, you prefer not to stay with a local family, we can arrange a stay at a nearby hotel.
The weekly fee of $590 will cover tuition, accommodation and excursion costs.
